Angelique Flores
Dance Instructor/ Dance Choreographer
Angelique Marie Flores is a performing artist based out of Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the dance conservatory at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 2018 and is a 2021 Honors graduate from Sam Houston State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Dance. During her time at SHSU, Angelique was a member of Chi Tau Epsilon, Sam Houston’s Dance Honor Society, where she had the privilege of being a volunteer teacher working with differently abled children and adults of all ages. Through college she performed in and choreographed numerous works which were showcased in different dance concerts and was invited to present her work Altered at DanceWorks Chicago’s Digital Dance Chance.
Angelique began her passion for dance at the age of 4 and is well versed in all genres of dance with a specialty in contemporary, modern, hip-hop and jazz movement. She has had the privilege of training with various dance educators and artists from across the globe and has performed in music videos, live music concerts and fashion shows as well as competed with a hip-hop and waacking crew throughout the metroplex.
As both a dance educator and student, Angelique has learned the importance of creating valuable connections with her students. She does so by implementing differentiated teaching methods that work hand in hand with her students preferred learning styles. Angelique finds the ability to be a dance teacher that makes a difference in her students’ lives most important. She prides herself in bringing joy, love and acceptance back into the art that is dance, while providing a safe space for her students to explore their own artistry.
